Richard Kolosky cofounded and serves as president of San Francisco-based Townsend Fine Art, Inc., which works to acquire and place fine art from artists whose work encompasses modern and contemporary styles. His career in art began when he was made a partner of the Beverly Hills Art Exchange, where he ran daily operations and oversaw sales and acquisitions of blue chip masterpieces by artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, and Van Gogh. During this time Richard Kolosky also served as senior vice president of the Montgomery Gallery in San Francisco, where he reshaped the gallery’s budget and marketing initiatives to bring about a marked increase in the gallery’s sales.
An active member of his profession, Richard Kolosky remains current with happenings in the art world by regularly attending art fairs and events in the United States and abroad. These include annual Art Basel exhibitions in Hong Kong, Basel, and Miami, as well as events held by TEFAF, an organization showcasing art internationally and publisher of the TEFAF Art Market Report.
